STATEMENT ABOUT JIM GOTTFRIDSSON

The European Handball Players Union (EHPU) expresses unequivocal support

for Jim Gottfridsson in his current dispute with the Hungarian club, OTP-Bank

Pick Szeged Handball.

It is paramount to the integrity and professionalism of our sport, that a

contract between a club and a player is respected by both parties, and that this

contract cannot be unilaterally terminated by one party without just cause.

The EHPU remains convinced that this is the viewpoint of all stakeholders in

Handball, that being both players, clubs, leagues, National Federations as well

as the EHF and the IHF, and we remain determined to see this case through to

a fair and satisfactory result for Jim Gottfridsson.
